Life Lately + Coffeetalk

Why, hello friends.

Fancy meeting you here. I had to brush off my keyboard keys to publish this post today. Quite literally as I was locked out of my blog admin account since I hadn’t used it in so long. My little corner of the internet is eleven years old this year and I don’t think I’ve ever let so much time pass without posting. What started out as a little hiatus at the end of a busy school year turned into much more time away. I contemplated just closing the door (figuratively) to this little space but then decided to publish a post instead.

When I first started blogging way back in 2011, blogging was very different than it is today. It felt more like a coffee date with a good girl friend and just sharing whatever was on my mind, the recipes I loved lately, great shopping finds I had come across. I met some wonderful friends through this blog who I talked to almost every day and it got me through some of life’s most challenging times – new moves, new jobs, two new babies, the loss of some of my closest loved ones.

So, here we are. We have lots to catch up on. The last year has challenged me and really caused me to question so many things. During my little blog hiatus Madeline started Kindergarten, I went back to work (as a teacher –  I know none of us saw that one coming!), started a new creative small business, adopted a puppy, took some fun trips, loved our family and friends hard, and we sold our forever house. More to come on that one a different day because it deserves a post all on its own for how we came to that decision and all the crazy feelings that came with moving out of our neighborhood and away from our closest friends.
