Happy Monday, friends. I hope you all had a great weekend. I can’t thank you all enough for your sweet comments and emails after my last post. We are all settling in to our new normalcy and learning how to keep our little love safe.
We planned for a laid-back weekend this weekend. Corey got home from work on Friday night just in time to kiss Madeline as she was going to bed and then we ate take out and went to bed early. We were both just completely, utterly exhausted after this week.
We woke up Saturday feeling so much better and each worked out in the morning and then I took Madeline to her preschool friend’s birthday party and Corey ran a few errands with Connor.
That evening Corey and I went out for date night. It was really to celebrate our anniversary, which is actually next week but we will be with friends and family then. I wore the Leith dress I snagged on sale and was so pleased with it. I tried to snap a picture but #momlife. Connor ready to get out of tummy time and Madeline admiring her Christmas jammies in the mirror.
We started the evening with cocktails at Dot Dot Dot, which is a speakeasy themed cocktail bar and has just the best cocktails in town. I really felt like I needed a few cocktails by Saturday night so this was perfect. Then we had dinner at Beef n’ Bottle, where I enjoyed a steak with lobster tail – my favorite indulgence.
On Sunday we had a relaxing morning. The kids stayed in their pajamas forever and I didn’t even make the beds until almost eleven. We did some errands and chores around the house and then Madeline had another birthday party in the afternoon. I took her and Corey stayed home with Connor again so he could eat his dinner, take a bath, and get ready for bed.
This week is just crazy busy for us. Corey will be out of town and I am planning to sneak away for one night to meet him. Madeline has Vacation Bible School this week, which she is really looking forward to. I honestly am too because I need a few hours to get my life and house in order. We also have a doctor’s appointment and some home improvement task coming up this week, too, before family arrives to visit over the weekend.
I hope your weekend was wonderful. What is on the agenda for you this week?
