One Room Challenge | Week 6 | THE REVEAL

The day is finally here! After six weeks it is One Room Challenge reveal day and I am so excited to share with you the final product of Madeline’s big girl room transformation.

This was such a special project for me as putting this level of attention to detail in a space for her was never something I’ve been able to do before. I really can’t believe this room is real and that it will really be all hers to enjoy for many years.

Let’s step inside. The view from the doorway is something that changed very minimally. I knew I would keep her dresser, lamp, shelves, and curtains. They’re all from her old nursery at our old house and some of my favorite aspects of her room. In fact I told our realtor when we put an offer on this house that I’d have to check to make sure I could get two more of her curtains before we did it because she only had one window in her old room and I loved them so much. True story. If they had been discontinued I’m not sure we could’ve bought our house!

Her little gallery wall over her bed is such a fun space and I’m so pleased with how it fills the wall without feeling too “busy.” I shared more about it in Week 5 here

I shared all about her sheets and linens here and about painting her bed here. Her mattress is from Amazon if you would believe it and we have been very happy with it.

Her little night stand is the same one that we had in her old room but I tried to move the easier to destroy things out of reach. I did leave this photo of Corey and I for her so she’ll have it next to her bed. The Ok to Wake clock might not be beautiful but I can’t recommend it enough for making the transition from crib to big girl bed a smooth one. She knows she can’t get out of bed until it turns green and at exactly 7:10 am every morning an excited little voice calls for me to come see her green clock.

I really can’t get enough of this wallpaper. I thought so long and hard before biting the bullet on it and I already shared what a labor of love it was to actually get it but it really does add so much and is feminine and girly without being babyish.

Her bookshelf stayed as it was, even down to the picture that hangs above from my own nursery as a child. I know one day it will have to be retired in favor of something more grown-up (a mirror perhaps?) but I’m not ready to rush that too much! The bins below house dress up clothes and toys.

The light fixture was one of my favorite changes and I think it is just that finishing touch that makes this room perfect for a little girl. I chatted more about it here. It really just adds so much femininity to the space.

Before we wrap up, let’s take a quick look back at what her room looked like before. You can see the full “before” here.

I couldn’t be happier with how this space turned out and the real icing on the cake is that Madeline loves it. It was truly an honor to be able to thoughtfully design this space for her as she prepares to take on her roll as a big sister in just a couple weeks.
