Happy Friday, friends.
It has been a week over here, which seems to be the theme for the summer in our household but we managed to squeeze some fun stuff in, too.
Madeline had a few days of camp this week and Connor and I tackled some projects at home. The main water line to our house had a leak last week so we have been in the midst of that saga and getting the repair finished up. What a mess that was, friends. Owning an older home comes with all kinds of fun surprises.
We are also busy doing a little research and prep work for the One Room Challenge this fall. I cannot wait to show you which area of our home we are finally tackling. Its been a long time coming and I am so stinking excited.
Now, on to some things I am loving right now.
One.
A girl friend and I went to dinner last night and then to see Hello Dolly. It was such a great performance, although a little cheesy. I thought the cast was wonderful and it was so nice to get out for a girls’ night in the middle of the week. Its been challenging to make that happen lately in the midst of Corey’s busy season and all the things we’ve had going on.
Two.
I asked for some recommendations on Instagram of some streaming shows I could watch when Corey is away and Dead to Me was recommended. I just finished the season and really loved it. Its a great kind of mindless show to watch that keeps you laughing at the absolute ridiculousness of the situation while also touching on some really hard emotions. Anyone seen it?
Three.
This new eye cream. I have been testing out Beautycounter’s new Countertime line for about a month for “research” purposes and while I still absolutely love my regular regimen, I have fallen in love with our new line, too. Especially this eye cream. Even though every one sleeps through the night in our house now, I still feel pretty tired and this eye cream helps perk up my tired eyes so much. I also love it for its non-retinol anti-aging properties.
Four.
A friend, who is a Pilates instructor, is hosting Pilates classes on Saturday mornings for busy mamas out of her home. I just started going and am loving it. Pilates is one of my favorite forms of exercise anyway but this hour with other mamas (kid-free) was so nice. I thought this was such a great idea and it is a great way to get a group of friends together on a regular basis and take an hour for self-care at the same time.
Five.
Sibling love – isn’t it the sweetest? While it may not be evident in this picture, I feel like Connor and Madeline’s relationship has really blossomed over the last two months as he has gotten older and more interactive. Its so sweet to see them together. He smiles every time he sees her and she loves to make him laugh by making silly faces and tickling him.
Tonight we are looking forward to supper club with some friends and then a relaxing weekend.
Happy Friday! What are some things you are loving this week?
What a fun way to get together with friends on the weekends. Pilates is one of my favorite ways to exercise as well.
I love the sibling hug!
I’m so sorry that happened with your house! Owning a home is always an adventure! I hope you get some rest this weekend!
