Good morning, friends.
It is a cool, rainy morning here in Charlotte. I can’t complain, though, because a relaxed day is just what we need around here. Both of my little ones have taken turns being sick over the last week so we are still taking it easy and just catching up on some rest today. I am so big on immune health and really try hard to keep our family well this time of year and luckily we are almost never sick. This was Madeline’s first ever stomach bug and boy oh boy, do I hope we don’t see another for quite some time.
I am really loving the cooler weather here in Charlotte. We have had a few teasers but it seems like Fall has finally arrived. And I am here for it. I’ve ordered a couple fun things for the season. I am a big fan of cardigans so I picked up this one from Express in two colors. I haven’t shopped there in years but was looking for a certain color that I didn’t have and ended up thinking this one was so cute that I ordered two.
I also ordered this dress. I thought it would be cute now as a transition piece since it doesn’t get truly cold here until so late but I think it will also look great with a cardigan and oner the knee boots once it is finally cool enough.
I’m always looking for flowy sweaters for day-to-day wear so I picked up two of these.
Madeline is really into all the old Disney movies right now. We have watched Cinderella, Aladdin, the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, and Beauty on the Beast more times than I can count recently. I can’t say that I am hating it. Throughout the kitchen reno and some of the personal things we have had going on, she has gotten a little more TV time than usual but I’m not complaining about getting to relive my own childhood. Cinderella was my own favorite as a little girl and I’ve come to the conclusion that movies were just better back in the nineties.
As were most things. Source.
Our kitchen project is going so well and I am excited to share with you our countertops and tile work on Thursday. What an undertaking it has been, though!
I’ve struggled with posting a coffee talk kind of post lately because our life has really been consumed with the loss of my mother-in-law. For those that know our family or have followed here a long time, you know she was really such a gem and so incredibly special to us. She moved to Charlotte to be near to us when my father-in-law passed away and has been a part of our every day lives, someone I called for advice often, whose opinion I valued dearly, and who spent time with my children every single week. Its really such an incredible void for our family. I don’t think I will do a full post at this time, but it seems impossible not to mention because every facet of our life has changed.
Really glad you guys are on the mend! Sick kids are just so sad..hope you got some extra cuddles at least!
So very sorry about your mother in law. Death is such an enemy.
Covering you all in prayer friend.
