The weather in Charlotte has been so nice the past couple days and I just can’t help but feel that fall is on the way. It is my favorite season. Yes, I love the clothes, the weather, the flavors (PSL – I’m looking at you), and getting back into our regular routine. But one of the things I am most looking forward to this fall is the One Room Challenge. Last year I revamped Madeline’s nursery into a big girl room. This year I’m coming for my kitchen.
I have big plans to transform our eighties kitchen into something a little more modern but one of the aspects of this project I am most excited about is being able to shop for a few new kitchen accessories. When Corey and I were married we had both lived with roommates after college and then moved in to a tiny seven hundred square foot apartment together when living in New Jersey. Because we simply didn’t have the space in our home, there are so many fun accessories for our kitchen that we just couldn’t purchase or register for.
Even though we’ve been married seven years now, we still have warped pink mixing bowls that I had in college and mix-matched cookware that is a blend of what we both had before we got married. Our kitchen refresh is the perfect time to purge some of these older things and upgrade to items that are more our taste and quality that will last us for years to come.
I have teamed up with Wayfair to share the items that are on my radar now as I begin to shop for our kitchen refresh project.
First up on my wish list is this Cuisinart single-serve coffee maker. We still have the Keurig we got when we first moved to Hoboken eight years ago and I know it is just going to be such a sad morning one day soon when it fails to brew. I love that this one has more of a sleek look, has more customization options, and comes with a reusable capsule.
This second time around of accessorizing our kitchen, I’m much older and I like to think a little wiser, too. I’m more drawn to timeless neutrals now, like these beautiful white mixing bowls and this ceramic vase, which is just perfect for our large island.
I love this set of copper cookware by Kitchenaid. The quality seems wonderful and I think the copper is so fun. Fun, pretty cookware definitely makes cooking more fun – right?
While I do love neutrals I think a pop of color is such a great way to brighten up a kitchen. Le Creuset is my go-to for adding a pop of color to my space and I love that Wayfair has so many options. We currently have the dutch oven and keep it on our stove as an accent all the time. I love the salt and pepper grinder as another little pop. We use the color “Caribbean” as an accent in our home but there are so many fun options to choose from.
Let’s chat: I want to keep adding must-haves to my list. What is your favorite item in your kitchen?
You can shop all my favorites from Wayfair below.
Such a fun post — I love talking house stuff…especially kitchens! Our kitchen is our big “re-do” eventually. We’d like to revamp the floors, cabinets, countertops and appliances. But until that happens I love finding little treasures to update it. Those stoneware mixing bowls are SO pretty and would double as great decor!
