Happy Monday, friends. I hope it was a nice weekend for everyone and that your Monday is off to a great start.
Madeline and I kicked off our weekend with a little donut date. There is a great donut place in Charlotte that makes the best donuts. Our favorite is glazed with fresh strawberry icing and sprinkles. It isn’t located in an area of town that is very convenient for us but it just worked out that we had an errand to run in the area so we popped in to grab one. Madeline was so excited.
Corey returned from his work trip the middle of the day on Friday and then we went out for date night. For all the Charlotte ladies, we tried Bulla for the first time and were so pleased. It was a delicious meal and I would definitely return.
Here’s a little peak at my date night makeup. Every product on my face is by Beautycounter. I was totally on board with switching my skin care but when I made the decision to start cleaning out my makeup bag last year I was a little skeptical because sometimes ignorance is bliss with our makeup once we’ve found that tried and true blush or foundation we love it can be hard to give it up. But, I’m happy to say that my safer products are performing after all!
Along those same lines, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I shared some prevention tips from the Breast Cancer Prevention Partners over on Facebook and a great challenge for the month is to try to ditch three personal care products that contain parabens or heavy metals from your regimen. Baby steps!
On Saturday morning, we woke up and pretended that it wasn’t ninety degrees with one-hundred percent humidity and went to a local Christmas tree farm to take our Christmas card photos. Madeline was surprisingly shy considering she’s usually such a chatterbox so I am hoping they turn out cute.
I saw a meme this morning that said fall in the South is basically just summer with pumpkins because its still hot and humid with plenty of mosquitos. I thought that couldn’t be more accurate but you guys(!) – this is the long-range forecast right now. Is it just me or is there a hint of fall right there at the end?
We had tickets for the Panthers-Giants game yesterday and were so excited about it but unfortunately Corey woke up super sick. We were bummed that we weren’t able to go but I ended up having a great day with my girl and got some time to relax. I even took a little power nap on the couch myself during Madeline’s nap time which was glorious. I can’t even remember the last time I took a nap! Luckily he is feeling back to himself today and we are all back to our regular routine.
I hope everyone has a great Monday!
What is this donut place?!?!? Not like I need donuts, ha! We've been wanting to try Bulla, I've heard nothing but good things!
We are supposed to get fall weather next week, too, and I’m beyond thrilled. Finally! And look at y’all already taking Christmas card pictures! Girl you are ON IT!
MMMM I think I could get donut hooked if I lived in the States – it must be so tempting all the time! I get frustrated like you do at the opposite end of the year – when y'all have glorious spring weather and we are still stuck in winter! I hope you post your Christmas card images! Good idea getting this done way before baby is due. We don't get family photos taken for card here, we just buy them (or make them) – so although I'm having sneaky peeks I haven't yet found 'my cards' yet. J xx
