5 Goals for July

Happy July, friends! I cannot believe that it is already July. This year is just flying by and I cannot believe we are approaching the halfway point of my pregnancy. With Madeline out of preschool for the summer I have had to be so intentional with my time. Otherwise the day goes by and I will have accomplished nothing I need to get done except for playing with and loving on my sweet girl. Of course there are far worse things than that but I feel like I do have a daunting to-do list with items that need to be checked off.

1. Clean out the closet in the nursery. This is currently being used for storage and the most random items are stored there. First up is throwing out and donating what is inside because I honestly go months without opening the door.

2. Sell and donate Madeline’s old clothes. There are some things I am not ready to part with but Madeline currently has eight bins of clothing that she has outgrown. I started this project last week and it is such a bigger job than I anticipated! This time around I am vowing to sell/donate as baby grows out of things.

3. “Refresh” our guest room. We currently have two guest rooms and there are items in each that I love. I need to pick and choose my favorites to give our permanent guest room a little refresh and to clear out the nursery to prepare it for all things baby!

4. Choose a name for the baby! This is SO much harder the second time around for some reason. Everyone seems to have an opinion about the second baby’s name and since I’m such a people pleaser by nature I want to make a choice that makes everyone happy but also a name I love that feels “right” for the baby.

5. Continue with an active and healthy pregnancy. I shared my first trimester workout routine a couple weeks ago and although it has changed a little in the second trimester with Madeline being out of school, I have continued exercising most days and hope to continue this over the next couple months as well.

My goals this month are all very home and family-oriented since that is the area of our life where we have some big changes coming this year. What are your goals for the month?

Great goals! My goals are also about cleaning and simplicity but that is due to a move in 26 days.

Keep it up. Organizing is so hard but so needed. And our guest room closet sounds like yours.

Decluttering is one of my favorite things! It can be so daunting though.Trust me, we all have those random closets. I can't wait to see what your combined guest room ends up like! Naming a baby has to be one of the hardest things ever! I'm sure it will come to you, and it will fit your little one perfectly. -Kristen // http://www.pugsandpearls.com

These are great goals! I love the feeling of pregnancy nesting: decluttering, organizing and purging! It feels so good. I'm definitely not pregnant, but I've been on an organizing kick lately and it's so nice to get things in order. You always feel so accomplished! Also, I kept one bin for my boys for all of their sweet clothes I just couldn't part with (their coming home gowns, obviously!; sweet smocked stuff; precious hand-knit blankets, etc.) and they're kept in the attic. I may or may not have any grandsons one day, but I love knowing it's there to be passed down if they want them! 🙂 Good luck!

I can see how you feel daunted but you are so organised and focused it sounds like you will do an amazing job on your projects! I love a good clear out and organise too and once you've done this I am sure you will then be able to focus on picking a baby name that is perfect! It is brilliant that you have stayed working out. I only managed on BB workout before I got my pregnancy result so now I am switching to the pre-natal one – a bit nervous though! Any tips? Joanne xx

I am not even pregnant, but "cleaning out the nursery closet" is also on my list! because when it does happen, I will need that closet to be clean 😉 happy baby name choosing!
