Happy Friday, friends! Today, I am off work because I was off the whole week to visit my family but decided to come back a day early to avoid driving in winter storm Saturn which is currently burying us in snow. It occurred to me that I’ve been really absent here on the blog, lately. Oops. So instead of doing a long catch-up post, I thought I’d just share some recent pics from my iphone.
Corey and I went to brunch at La Isla, a cuban restaurant, in Hoboken. We split a healthier option and the French toast above, which was featured on the Food Network’s Throwndown with Bobby Flay. This was stuffed with strawberry guava cream cheese and coated in almonds and corn flakes. Even between the two of us, we couldn’t finish it but it was definitely worth the calories.
After brunch, we hopped on the train across the street and headed into the city to spend the morning at the Museum of Natural History, which was lots of fun. Another item checked off my New York bucket list.
Corey’s parents have moved to Florida and when his dad was in town for business we all went out for dinner. I enjoyed this blackberry mojito, even though it was a work night.
Meet Baby Mia. Corey’s cousin had a sweet little girl about a month ago so we went to meet her recently. Isn’t she precious.
I headed home to the Carolinas for a few days. For dinner the first night, I wore the monogram necklace I won in Style Me Swanky’s giveaway from Petal Boutique in Charlotte. It took ages for it to finally arrive but now that it has I want to order another color, too.
One of my sweet kiddos brought these flowers for me last Friday. Aren’t they so springy? I was super sad when I had to leave them at the apartment when I left for my trip.
So my sweet husband had flowers delivered to my family’s house in South Carolina. He addressed them to both me and my mom. What a sweet, sweet man. Don’t you love tulips?
I came home yesterday so I didn’t get caught in the snow, which started the very second I exited the New Jersey turnpike and is still coming down. Riley was very interested in it this morning so I bundled him up in his warm jacket and we went out to play.
Happy Friday, girls!
Enjoyed the catch-up post. And what a sweet thoughtful husband to send you and your mom flowers. Hope you're not hit too hard by the snow. Happy Friday.
Aw, what a sweet husband! 🙂 Love the monogram necklace!
It's been a snowy season for you all. The flowers are beautiful.
oo that french toast looks incredible!
