Happy {almost} 2013 friends! Before I get to dancing on the table tomorrow, I’d like to recap some of the year’s highlights.
January
Corey and I rung in the New Year by having dinner at Chez Jacqueline, an adorable French restaurant in Greenwich Village. Then, we headed to a party with the friends. It was my favorite New Year to date.
I got stabbed in the eye with a pencil at work. While memorable, this was certainly not the highlight of my year.
My sorority sister and maid of honor, Elizabeth, came into town so we got a group of girls together for sight seeing and touristy things in the city.
Corey and I went skiing in Vermont with a group of friends. It was my first time skiing in about ten years and I had the best time.
February
Corey and I celebrated Valentine’s Day the weekend before. I cooked dinner for him on Friday and he took me out to a delicious tapas restaurant on Saturday. Then, he headed skiing with some friends later in the week and my cousin came to visit.
Our Save the Dates went out.
March
We celebrated St. Patricks day in pure Hoboken fashion – which is BIG and with a day full of drinking and parties.
Life with Elizabeth turned one year old! And my sweet Riley Thomas turned 2!
I took my first vBarre class and fell in love with this new workout class.
April
I went home to the Carolinas to do some wedding planning. I met with our planner, chose the florist, and Corey and I had our tasting and finalized the menu.
May
Corey, some friends, and I headed down to the Jersey Shore to celebrate Memorial Day. I got majorly sunburned but started getting a little pre-wedding color.
June
Corey and I traveled to Key West for his cousin’s wedding.
My grandbig in my sorority hosted a bridal shower in Greenville, SC and I was able to go back for the weekend and spend some much needed time with my very best girlfriends. And see my dad for Father’s Day.
Then, the very next weekend, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law hosted a beautiful bridal shower here in New Jersey.
July
I traveled home to South Carolina to finish up with wedding plans. My aunt and cousin hosted a kitchen shower in my hometown. It was good to be back in the town I grew up in.
I took my bridal portraits at the lovely Duke Mansion in Charlotte. The temperature dropped down to 98 degrees from the 103 and 104 it had been so I was able to take photos outside.
I met up with my best girlfriends in Charleston, SC for my bachelorette party. It was a great time and so, so special to me to have my favorite ladies all in one place. I even met on of my blog followers when we were walking down the street on our way to get mani/pedis.
I was hired for my new job and resigned my position at the innercity Charter school where I’d been teaching for the past year.
August
We got married!
Then, headed to Hawaii for our honeymoon.
September
I legally changed my name and then started my new job as a 3rd grade teacher.
Corey and I started to get settled into our newlywed life.
My sweet friend, Elizabeth, came to visit me and another sorority sister, Brittany, who lives in the city.
October
We celebrated Corey’s 28th birthday.
Hurricane Sandy hit Hoboken, causing major destruction and leaving many of our neighbors homeless.
November
I celebrated my 25th birthday.
My mom came to visit for Thanksgiving and then we went to see Jersey Boys on Broadway.
December
I caught the respiratory flu, which left me sick for two weeks. Yuck!
My kiddos had a great Holiday season and Corey and I celebrated a wonderful first married Christmas and got ready to ring in another year together.
Happy 2013! Grab a glass of bubbly and make it a great one! xo
