Happy Bridal Talk Tuesday ladies! Just 25 more days! Today, we are going to chat about wedding nightmares. I’ve had quite a few of these. Some of them reoccurring. Most of them hilarious. I have to say some of the anxiety has subsided this week because my planner and I have gotten lots done.
The One with Wal-Mart
Once, many months ago, I had a dream that on the morning of my wedding I woke up and realized that I had forgotten to purchase gifts for my bridesmaids and for Corey. This sent me into complete panic because I wanted them to all know how appreciated they were. So I did the logical thing…I got dressed in my wedding gown and skipped my hair and makeup appointment to go shopping barefoot at the Southpark Mall to pick up the last minute gifts. I thought I would find something really quickly at Nordstrom so I went in. Then, Nordstrom turned magically into a super Wal-Mart maze. So I struggled to find my way out and then hurried across to Neiman Marcus. But when I entered Neiman Marcus, the same thing happened. It transformed into a Wal-Mart. And this was like no other Wal-Mart. It was huge and all the aisles were set up like a maze so I would get lost. When I finally escaped, I made one last try at Macy’s. And guess what? It turned into a super Wal-Mart, too! I tried to select my gifts but everything I touched crumbled into pieces and fell to the floor. Mind you, I am wearing my wedding dress the whole time. And I’m trapped in Wal-Mart. If you know me personally, you know how much a trip to Wal-Mart stresses me out on a regular day so this was the ultimate wedding nightmare.

The One with the Veil
For four nights straight, I had the same dream. I was standing in the narthex of my church with my dad getting ready to walk down the aisle when I discovered I didn’t have my veil. So I pulled out my cell phone and called Kleinfeld. I couldn’t get through to talk to anyone because I kept getting trapped by automated messages asking me to make a selection. Well, there was no selection for “My veil is missing!” and meanwhile the organist was starting my processional song over and over again. In real life, it wouldn’t really matter because Corey would be waiting at the end of the aisle and I’d be so excited to get down there! How did I solve this one? Well, I finally called Kleinfeld and explained my dream to them (which we both laughed about) and they called the designer to check on my veil.

The One with the Red Sequins
If you’ve spent much time reading this blog you know that I love pink and that pink is one of our wedding colors. You may also be able to infer that I’m not a fan of red sequins. Unless it was for some sort of holiday or themed party. I once dreamed that the bridesmaids and I were getting ready – they were wearing their pretty blush pink dresses. Then, when I walked down the aisle Corey was wearing a tux with a red sequined vest. But to make matters worse, all the groomsmen were wearing tuxes that were completely covered in red sequins. After the ceremony, we headed to the reception, except that it wasn’t our reception hall at all. There were two ballrooms right across from each other and we got the smaller one so everyone was cramped and eating their filet mignon standing up and there was glitter everywhere. Then, when the bands started to play, our band and the band across the hall seemed to be having a “sing off” and spent the whole night competing and trying to out do each other.
Luckily, all of these things can’t really happen. If, heaven forbid, I forgot something on the day of the wedding, my Maid of Honor or our planner would run to Wal-Mart. The veil has been safely in my possession for two months now. And Corey knows better than to try to wear red sequins to our wedding. Isn’t it funny what your mind can come up with when you’re busy and have a lot of your plate? Now all you married/engaged ladies – have you ever had any crazy wedding dreams? Let’s hear ’em!

Oh my gosh I had so many nightmares, ranging from no one showing up at our wedding, to forgetting to get my dress altered. And you know I'll guest post for you!! I know a thing or two now about weddings 😉
Haha those are great! The one that I have been having lately is that I just wake up and I'm on my honeymoon. I don't remember a thing about the wedding, and my fiance doesn't take me seriously at all.
I linked up to talk about something that's on my mind right now: flowers!I have had some pretty crazy wedding dreams, but nothing too nightmare-ish yet!:)
Those are great dreams. Funnu! I cannot believe that your wedding is so close.
I had at least one wedding nightmare a week before the wedding…it was awful! They were all different scenarios, but all with the same theme – the wedding starting without me, and nothing was the way I wanted it. At the end of the day, regardless of the ups and downs (and there will be some, I promise you), you totally get over them on the day – you get that calm "zen" where you completely stop caring…just know that, I promise! Can't wait to see your big day – I know it will be awesome!
Oh my gracious, I've had wedding nightmares too! CRAZY! I'll write a post for while yall are gone if you'd like!
Nice Photos and Blogs I Like It wedding planning education
hahah I could not stop laughing! I'm sure when I get married I'll have plenty of nightmares too!
Oh my gosh! I've been having similar crazy nightmares – I think I've had 3 already…and my wedding isn't until October 13th! They're always about being unprepared. In one of the nightmares, I didn't have my veil, and in another, my fiance & I didn't get our vows written in time for the ceremony. Let's just say those nightmares prompted me to get a jump on my last-minute wedding plans! 🙂
