Happy Bridal Talk Tuesday lovelies!! Can you believe there are only five more BTT before the wedding? And boy do I have a lot to fit into those posts!! Today, we’re going to discuss photography.
Specifically, bridal portraits. I had my Bridal portraits taken yesterday and am I ever excited to see how they came out!
First let’s chat about bridal portraits in general. Bridal portraits are a Southern tradition, although people in other parts of the country do them now. Originally, bridal portraits were commissioned by the bride’s family to display at the reception and later in their home. They are often used in newspaper announcements celebrating the couple’s marriage.
When I purchased my dress in New York, I told the consultant I’d be taking my bridal portraits before the wedding. Because they are uncommon in that area, my official wedding date for Kleinfeld was June 28.
Our fabulous photographers, Kristin and Aaron Byrum shot the pictures and the setting was the Duke Mansion in Charlotte. Of course you’ll get to see how they turned out in exactly 39 days. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite bridal portraits of other brides.
B is for Bridals, but B is also for Boudoir.
Boudoir photos are such a hot trend lately, and I think they are a great gift for a groom. After all, you look your hottest on your wedding day after months of eating right and working out. I love the idea of a tiny portfolio of the images that you can give your groom. He can slip it into his bag when he travels for work or pull them out years down the road when you’re eight and a half months pregnant and not looking quite your hottest. I think the key here is finding a photographer that will make you look sexy but also keep the pictures sweet and sophisticated, too. Will I be doing this for Corey? It’s yet to be determined, but I’ll let you know. Of course, I won’t be sharing any of those images on the blog!! Here are some of my favorite bridal boudoir photos:
