Hi ladies!
I’d like to thank you all for your kind words on my previous post. It means a lot to know my family is in your thoughts and prayers and I know my cousins are especially thankful. Your comments and the sweet emails I’ve received have helped brighten my week.
This week has flown by and I am very grateful for that. How can it really be Thursday already? I think if I had a four day week every week I would get so much more accomplished and be much more rested.
Tuesday I left work at exactly the time teachers can leave – not one minute later. I came straight home, loved on this sweet dog, and poured myself a glass of wine.
Corey made spaghetti meat sauce for dinner and I ate a quarter of an Italian baguette. No judgement, please. I had time to talk with my mom and check in with my grandmother and they are both handling things as best as can be expected. Then, I forced Corey to watch last week’s Private Practice online with me and we went to bed early.
Yesterday, Corey had a work dinner so I headed home with the intention of going to the gym and picking up on my routine. Instead, I ate leftovers from the yummy rosemary roasted chicken I made on Monday and sulked on the couch. (And ate another quarter of the baguette.) I searched for plane tickets to fly home for the funeral this weekend then sulked some more when I found that even with the credit offered for bereavement, the lowest far was $800. Instead of going to the gym, I played on Pinterest and found these motivational quotes:
I’ll be returning to the gym tomorrow. Obviously.
Amidst my sulking the buzzer rang and a few minutes later I opened the door to find these:
With this sweet note:
In case you cannot read it, it says, “10 more months. I love you, Corey.” This reminded me that while this is a sad time for my family, I will be married in ten months! This brightened my spirits and gave me some energy to clean our apartment, put a load of laundry in, and paint my nails. I decided to use:
My current favorite for fall is Lady Like, but I also love the bright purplish-pink of Big Spender by Essie. I did my toes too and I’m really loving this color. It feels so perfect for fall!
I’m looking forward to girls’ night tonight with my friends. A great pick me up at the end of a stressful week.
Happy Thursday girls!
I am very sorry for your family, I hope you will be able to find an affordable way home! Those flowers are so sweet š The next 10 months will fly by!
I am so sorry for your loss. Corey is so sweet to send you flowers! And congratulations on getting married in 10 months! How is your wedding planning going? I am getting married next month and having a wedding next September (obviously).
I'm glad to see you're hanging in there. And it's more than okay to eat a lot and sulk. It's a sad time and sucks, and that's all. You have an amazing fiance though to send you gorgeous flowers š TGIAF (thank goodness it's almost Friday)
