Today I’m linking up with Rebecca for Thankful Thursday! I’ve been so busy this week I’ve probably spent a total of twenty minutes with my computer all week – I apologize for my lack of posting and commenting. Things have been crazy!
I’ve been wanting to post a weekend recap of our oh-so-fun weekend last weekend but haven’t had a chance to upload any pictures. Maybe tomorrow?
Anyway…despite being super busy I’m feeling really thankful right now. This weekend is a significant one for people all over America, but especially in this part if the country. September 11 is such an emotional time for many people and I’m feeling very thankful to be an American and to have had the opportunity to grow up in a country that values freedom. We can see the new World Trade Center building from our living room window and I’m thankful for how far we’ve come and all that we’ve accomplished in the last ten years. Of course, nothing will ever be the same but I am thankful to live in a strong nation.
I read a blog post from one of my IRL friends yesterday. She and her boyfriend have a beautiful daughter who is a little over a year old. A month ago, her boyfriend was involved in a near-fatal car accident. She wrote about the series of what she could only call miracles that happened to save his life. I am thankful that he will be able to be with her and to see hisdaughter grow up. Reading her post made me feel overwhelmingly thankful that my fiancรฉ is safe and healthy.
I am thankful that Corey and I are headed south for the weekend! We’re visiting with friends and going to a Clemson game and tailgate. Then, on Monday, we’re taking our engagement pictures!!!!! I am so excited about this. Our photographers will have them ready in 3-4 weeks so we can fill all of our empty picture frames.
I am thankful for all my friends who let me vent to them this week when I’ve gotten off work thirty minutes late everyday and missed both trains home. And I’m thankful for Corey who gave me a giant hug and kiss when I got home so late last night even though I was soaking wet (I’ve got to order those rain boots!) and had squished up banana in my hair.
Such a great, great grateful post, Elizabeth! I'm glad to see you have a fun weekend to look forward to! I take it that you got a new job ๐ Very, very exciting!!!
