Happy Thursday ladies! I was missing in the blog world yesterday because I was busy job interviewing for several different jobs. More to come on that another day, though!
I woke up this morning, took Riley on a little walk, then settled down with my coffee to watch to Today show. Then it was interrupted with a local update on hurricane Irene. Hoboken residents are currently being encouraged to evacuate by tomorrow evening. It isn’t a mandatory evacuation yet but everyone is being asked to move their cars out of town. Hoboken lies on a flood plain (streets will flood up to 10-12 inches with just a heavy night of rain.) Apparently we should expect several feet of flooding with hurricane Irene and it might look like this:
Moving on…we all know that I love at-home manicures and that I change my polish frequently. Usually 2-3 times a week. How do I manage this without getting frustrated with the wait time for my polish to try?
Meet quick-e drying drops by Essie. Also known as the best thing ever for home manicures. After you’ve polished your nails just squeeze a drop of Essie quick-e onto each one. The bottle comes with a dropper that screws on the bottle in place of the lid so you’ll never lose it. Your nails will feel dry to the touch in thirty seconds. I still wait at least five minutes before taking a shower, getting dressed, unloading the dishwasher, etc. so I don’t damage the polish but I’ve noticed that my nails turn out so much better since I discovered quick-e. It is a lifesaver for DIY manicures. The bottle is the size of an average bottle of nail polish and will run between $10-15. Don’t let this deter you. Ten tiny drops per manicure are all you need so this bottle will last months! And I promise it will make your life so much easier – and definitely take the frustration out of DIY manis. Go ahead, have a quick-e.
It is going to get BAD here in Carolina too. They started mandatory evacuations at the Outer Banks @ 5am this morning…
I need this! Hope you don't actually get too much flooding in Hoboken… I'm also hoping that we don't have as bad a storm as they are saying 🙂 Fingers crossed.
You have a lot of power only polishing 2-3 times a week. I can't bare to see even one tiny flaw in my polish, so most of the time it doesn't last 48 hours. 😉 I love these drops, though. Almost as much as I love seche vite quick dry top coat!
I really need this because I hate waiting for my polish to dry! Good luck with the job interviews! 🙂
i hope you don't get bad flooding! we've been getting a bunch of tornado warnings/watches here (and the storm last night left my pear tree dead after getting struck by lightning!), so i totally understand your weather worries!
What a great invention. What are you going to do with your cars? I wish you all the best.
okay i'm going to need to swing by target to pick up that quick-e! sounds amazing, thanks for sharing!
Good luck with Hurricane Irene! I think I'm going home for weekend from school.
Oh I definitely need this!! Thanks for posting about it 🙂
I MUST get this quick-e stuff!! I do my own nails all the time and always manage to mess them up before they're dry!
