Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a great weekend.
On Friday, we went to Lowe’s as a family and picked up a couple items we needed for some projects around the house, like gold spray paint to freshen up some dresser hardware, and stepping stones for the back yard. Wild Friday night I tell you! But Madeline enjoyed looking at all the inflatable Halloween decorations and we went out for dinner and frozen yogurt as a family afterwards.
I sure won’t be sad when all these projects are completed!
Saturday morning we took a long walk and the weather was, dare I say, kind of nice. There was definitely a hint of something that suggested the nineties are about to clear out some time very soon. Or maybe it was just wishful thinking?
It felt good to get out and moving. I didn’t share last week but I started having some contractions last week (not Braxton Hicks) and had to cease a lot of my normal activity. Luckily they are gone now and baby boy doesn’t seem to be trying to escape any time immenently so I was able to get back to barre and my home projects by Friday.
We came home and I hopped in the shower then we headed out to watch the Clemson game with some friends. I’m pretty much out of clothes for this weather but I snapped this twenty-nine week photo.
My mom came in to babysit Madeline for the day since our regular sitters were not available and they had a great time together. We made it home after the game just in time to give our girl a kiss goodnight.
She is adjusting so well to her big girl bed and we are moving on next week to start the rest of the projects for transforming her room. I’ll be sharing the process of her big-girl room with you step-by-step and I am just so excited about this project.
Yesterday we went to the park where there was an art festival. We walked around, got Madeline her first little taste of festival food, and I picked up a cute soldered iron outdooor decoration.
We came home and I took it easy the rest of the afternoon. I have definitely been feeling like I’m in the third trimester ever since I hit the third trimester!
Last week I worked hard on selling some of Madeline’s old clothes she has grown out of in a local mom group and I’m going to try to finish that up this week so that baby boy’s closet is all cleaned out for his own things and then his nursery will be all finished. And boy am I glad because I’m ready to just take a little break from projects for a few weeks before he arrives. After Madeline’s room update, of course!
What does everyone have planned for the week?
Glad the contractions have ceased. We put E into a twin last night and she rolled out. so ordered some rails this morning! Fall is trying to come to Texas too, its only going to be 80 today!
Oh my, she looks so sweet in that big girl bed! My daughter has soft pink and gold in her room, too. 🙂 It sounds like you've been so productive and I hope the week ahead is a good one.
That sounds like such a fun weekend, and I’m glad you got to rest some, too. I had Braxton Hicks with Knox and they are zero fun; I’m so glad they stopped for you!!!
Glad your contractions went away! I have some warm weather maternity clothes (the ones that I'm not still wearing, haha) that you are welcome to borrow!! Let me know!
It sounds like you had a great weekend. Glad the contractions stopped for you. I have 8 more weeks to go with my third and I feel like I am down to slim pickings for clothes. Both of my other boys were summer babies so fall is a new season for me with needing things to wear. Sierra Beautifully Candid
I am glad your worry about the storm and Braxton Hicks (I keep thinking this is a 90s RnB singer but that's Tony Braxton haha) has passed – I had them too with Caspar a TON of times – and apparently you get them more with your second? You look super fit and healthy – you are starting to 'pop' – yey! I bet you are looking forward to when all your little jobs are complete – but you will have such a sense of satisfaction xx
