The perfect nude pump!

I don’t know how many of you have been on the hunt for the perfect nude pump this year, but it can be quite a task! I have a beautiful pair of leather nude pumps from my pageant days. A super high, calf-defining heel, the perfect almond shaped toe. But…they’re not patent. And this year, I wanted to add a patent pair to go with lots of my dresses. I had a specific vision of what I wanted and didn’t think it would be hard to find. After all – nude is nude, right? My first stop was Nordstrom (as it usually is for shoes) and I ordered these babies:

They were such a steal on sale for just $50 and they have a really pretty profile view. But when they arrived, they were a shade darker than pictured online and were too brown for the outfits I wanted to wear them with.

Away they went to the return department and I browsed around online. I drooled over how pretty these Stuart Weitzmans were but decided they were just too pink for what I was looking for so I didn’t order them.

Then, on a shopping trip with Corey’s mom I checked out Lord and Taylor, where I came across these pretties by Michael Kors.

I love the gold hardware at the heel but these were too yellow for the outfits I wanted to wear and didn’t look right with my skin tone.

I was feeling a little discouraged by this point. Then, from across the show department these caught my eye:

Ivanka Trump “Pinkish”

The only pair of 7 1/2’s left, a comfy, well padded footbed, and the perfect shade of nude. I love them!

Searching for the right pair of nude pumps is like Goldilocks searching for the right bowl of poridge. Some are too brown, some are too pink, and some are too yellow. But somewhere there’s a pair that’s just right!
