Hitched: Reception Decor

Hi lovelies! Today, I wanted to continue on with the Hitched series and share some photos of our reception decor. I have to say our reception turned out beautifully and just the way I dreamed. This is thanks to Cortenay of Carolina Wedding Design. Brides to be in the Charlotte area – HIRE HER! Not only will she turn your best ideas into a reality, but if something goes wrong you won’t even know about it. Our reception was held in the ballroom at Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte. My colors were blush pink and gold and we were going for a “swanky, Southern, sophisticated” feel.

We had a sneak peek of the ballroom after our newlywed photo shoot.

It was so gorgeous. Thank you times a million, Cortenay.

We had a cocktail hour downstairs in the atrium and on the patio. Our guestbook was moved there for anyone who hadn’t signed yet and was displayed on a table with some of our engagement and favorite photos.

Including photos of each of our parents on their wedding days. Corey’s parents are in the frame on the left and mine on the right.

This is our seating chart. The gorgeous gold frame was borrowed from Cortenay.

The gorgeous ballroom upstairs. It was like my dream coming to life.

Mr. & Mrs. chairs

Centerpieces. Inspired by Pinterest of course. I love hydrangeas because they give a lush, full look but aren’t too expensive.

Place setting. Our calligrapher added each guests’ name to their menu card, so it served as both a menu and a place card.

I made coloring books for the kids’ table and added a little gold baggie of crayons.

Table decor

Table numbers. Cortenay designed them and I hunted down 20 inexpensive champagne frames.

We mixed these gorgeous square arrangements in with the taller lush centerpieces at our long head table.

The head table. I love the blush linen peaking out from under the champagne one. We sat bridal party and their dates with us. Don’t you hate when you’re the date of someone in the bridal party and have to sit away from your date?

 The cookie buffet.

These were the centerpieces on the cocktail tables.

Our cake. I love the floral cake stand and the cake. I was nervous when I finally committed to the pearl design but I have to say I ended up LOVING it.

GORGEOUS! I got goosebumps, for real. I AM IN LOVE with the idea of putting out pictures of our parents on their wedding days – might have to steal that!
