Happy Monday, friends. Its such a beautiful day in Charlotte today. The sun is shining at last and the warm weather is here – just in time for our last week of preschool.
I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t a little nervous about the end of Madeline’s school this year. My energetic school loves to go, go, go which is so challenging to balance with Connor’s naps.
Its been quite a while since I shared all we’ve been up to so let’s grab a cup of coffee this morning and dig right in.
Connor is almost six months old now. I really can’t believe it. We’ve made it past all the challenging newborn things and he is just the best baby. It is kind of redeeming after struggling with Madeline during infancy so much. I’m going to share more of an update on him and the last six months with our little man soon.
Madeline has been keeping us very busy with preschool, soccer, ballet, and starting swim lessons. This was her second season of Soccer Shots and she did so much better than last year. At least until two weeks ago. I’d say Madeline’s attention span for soccer is capped at ten weeks. Haha!
She started private swim lessons last week and is just loving being back in the pool. I’ve been a little nervous about taking both kids to the pool by myself since she doesn’t know how to swim without the puddle jumper yet. So, we are really focusing on safety and basic swim skills.
Connor had his first visit to the pool, too. He was not a fan but he sure looked cute!
Corey and I snuck away for an overnight stay at the Ritz on Friday. We took a nap, ate at the bar, watched TV that didn’t contain any cartoon characters, slept in, went to brunch, and drank champagne in bed. It was glorious! That is the only perk of him traveling so much for work – hotel points!
We have also been so busy doing lots of home projects. We tend to tackle things in big groups. We updated our master furniture, did a few landscaping projects, made some changes to our home office, and unintentionally had to repair some molding and repaint when Madeline literally ripped our kitchen door out of the wall.
I also started working one morning a week at my barre studio – you know because I have so much free time these days!
This week I am just trying to get all the errands run that I can during Madeline’s last two mornings of school. I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
Iām with you: the only positive about them traveling are the airline miles and hotel/rental car points!
Oh lady you are doing all the things! I cannot wait to see all the home projects. Hang in there with Madeline, it will get better I promise.
How nice that you got some time away with the hubby! Cheers to that! Hope you have a fun long weekend with the kiddos. š
