Coffee + Conversation

Well, friends, my little Holiday season social media and blogging hiatus is over. It has been so good for my heart and mind to detox a little during the holiday season and just pour my time into my family. Sometimes I struggle to devote enough time to all the things that need my attention so taking a step back from spending time online during the holidays was much needed.

But, if we are being totally honest, I really did miss this space. Its something I do for me and I love connecting with all of you. So, happy Monday! It feels good to be “back” today.

Its a rainy Monday morning here in Charlotte. What’s better on a rainy morning than a coffee date with friends. So, if we were having coffee today we would have a lot to catch up on.

On Thursday, Madeline and I flew to Arizona for a long weekend. Corey had been there for work so we met up with him and then had a fun weekend with our big girl. Madeline did so good on the flight, especially since it was a long one.

We took her to see the Grand Canyon and played in the snow at Flagstaff. She had never seen more than about an inch of the icy snow we get in North Carolina so she was so fascinated by the fluffy snow out West. She was surprised by how wet and cold it was but also disappointed that it was to fluffy for her to build a snowman. Our Frozen obsession is real these days and she really wanted to build one!

Then, we spend the rest of our trip in Sedona. Then scenery was just unreal.

We missed our favorite little boy of course, who stayed home with his Nana. Connor is thirteen months old now, and I have lots to share over the next couple weeks about his first birthday and what our days look like lately.

Has anyone else been completely fascinated by the #Megxit situation? I have just been completely enthralled by the whole thing because I feel like it makes no sense. I kind of feel like it is Meghan Markle throwing a temper tantrum primarily because she expected to be well received by the British and then ended up being very hated by the British media. The whole financial independence motive seems a little greedy in my opinion as well – almost like they are trying to double dip since they expect to still receive a lot of funding from Great Britain while also being able to monetize their Sussex brand. I have really enjoyed chatting about this on Instagram over the last few days so if you have an opinion, I’d love for you to share it below so we can chat!

I am always looking for new shows to watch at night while I work on weeks that Corey is traveling. Last week I started Virgin River on Netflix. I did not read the books and really didn’t expect to like it but I have to admit that I am really enjoying it. Some other recent favorites have been Working Moms, Dead to Me, and Schitt’s Creek.  If there is something you are enjoying streaming right now, I would love some recommendations for what to start next.

This week, I am looking forward to getting back into a regular routine. You can expect posts here on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and I have lots to share and update you on soon.

Happy Monday, friends!

I kind of agree re: #Megxit however, I can understand that they’re attempting to protect themselves and their little one considering how Harry’s mum passed away? Perhaps he was worried about something bad happening to Megan or Archie long term?
I’m not sure this will help the situation but, maybe that is the hope?

What a fun trip! I’m confused as well by the whole Royal situation. It feels like everyone else is too; which also is kind of perplexing since it is all just pageantry anyways! I guess the allure of family drama is a nice distraction with everything else that is going on in the world?! 🙂

I think Meghan, personally, just doesn’t want to do the hard work associated with being an actual royal. Sure, your life is financed very well, but you have a lot of behind the scenes duties that aren’t as glamorous. Plus, you can’t be an #influencer, which is what I think she wants, deep down.
AND I think many forget that the British tabloids blasted Kate for yearssss before she really earned her place.
